Our Story
Located in the picturesque Clare Valley, Mathie's Meat Shoppe is owned and run by Jason and Delvene Mathie. Since taking over the business in 2008, they have put the Valley on the map, as the home of the Sausage Kings!
Mathie's was crowned National Sausage King champions three times from 2011 to 2013 and is one of only six businesses inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jason even made an appearance on the 'Today' morning show - cooking sausages, of course.
They now employ five qualified butchers, one apprentice and two Clare High School students as casual staff.
Supporting the region
Mathie's, who are passionate about supporting their community and local industry, currently stock produce from more than 15 local farmers and suppliers. It's not only good for the region, it reduces the impact on the environment by saving transport. Plus Jason remains in close contact with local suppliers to ensure their produce is top-notch and meeting customer's expectations. In the community, Mathie's are well-known supporters of sporting groups, schools and service organisations like The Lions Club, who hold fortnightly fundraising BBQs in Mathie's laneway; prime main street real estate.
In-the-know and on trend
Jason is a member of the Australian Meat Industry Council board, giving Mathie's a say in the industry's future. In the shop, you'll find the meat you know and love, as well as something new to try. Mathie's have created 45 different flavoured sausages, with the latest being the Blazin' Texan Chilli and Thai green curry sausages. They also ensure many dietary needs are catered for, with gluten-free options available.
